At the Delhi Foundation of Deaf Women (DFDW), we believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental right for everyone, including the deaf and hard-of- hearing community. To support this vision, we regularly organize Free Health Camps and Hearing Aid Distribution Camps dedicated to improving the health and well-being of deaf individuals.
Our health camp offered a wide range of medical services tailored to the unique needs of the deaf community, ensuring comprehensive care:
This initiative reflects DFDW’s long-standing mission to address the unique needs of deaf women and the broader deaf community through education, health, and welfare programs. By focusing on accessibility and inclusivity, the foundation ensures that no one is left behind in their journey toward better health and well-being.
Understanding the importance of hearing support, DFDW also organizes Hearing Aid Distribution Camps where quality hearing aids are provided free of cost to those in need. These camps are often held in partnership with hearing aid specialists, audiologists, and donors who share our mission of empowering the deaf community. Beneficiaries are also guided on how to use and maintain their hearing aids for long-term benefit
Our free health camps provide general medical check-ups, eye and dental screenings, gynecological consultations, and awareness sessions on personal hygiene and preventive healthcare. These camps are conducted in collaboration with experienced doctors and healthcare professionals who understand the unique communication needs of deaf individuals. Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpreters are present to ensure smooth and effective interaction between patients and medical staff.
These health initiatives are a part of our ongoing commitment to holistic development—ensuring not only skill-building but also physical and mental well-being or deaf women and their families.
